25. That we shall tell it

25. That we shall tell it

We will not hide the meaning of the sign under chairs and tables; we will not fear to make it known; will not hesitate to appear as people for it; not shrink back to stand up and be “counted” as Vow People; we will say to the world, without timidity and without fear: we exist as people singly and only because the Lord has mercy on us; for our existence as people we are indebted to Him; really indebted, and therefore we devote our existence also as sacrifice without reserve to Him and to his service.
And if it has to be said real convincingly, we will not only say it by words; it will be said by the works of our hands, by the planning of our lives, by what we as Vow People’s doings on whatever area of our lives: who looks and listens to our arts of music and drama, who has interest in our commerce and industry, who becomes involved in our exercising of science and technology, who has to do with our politics and diplomacy, who collides with our safety forces, will undeniably find in our doings depicted that the Lord our God has mercy on us, and that we now live out of thankfulness from his contention of love for people and world - and with us, the Vow People, therein.

Therefore we want to be nothing else but the Vow People for whom the road would have ended there, and for whom the Lord in his almighty love then opened it; the people who fulfilled his faith calling on Africa soil as civilized Christian white people only in the freedom with which Christ liberated us, and therefore may yield to neither imperialistic overpower, nor barbaric swallowing.
-------
We are not Vow People by showing yearly on 16 December in tens of thousands a sign of a Christian-national people’s existence, which we then do it against our will, nothing other than nearly clumsy and helpless, while the other 364 days of the year we live non-Christian, materialistic, non-Christian hedonistic, that is enslaved to comfort, convenience, pleasure and money.

Then we say with our festivities on our People’s thanksgiving day something that, by the appearance of our being a people, would make all the other days a lie. Then the world will seek the reality in the direction to which the sign directs on 16 December, and . . . there is nothing! Then the only reality what the sign to any onlooker would mean, would be that we are the victims of boundless deception of ourselves, a lot of pompous Pharisees. The darkest night in our history will be the day when it is our children and grandchildren who ask, and being answered by us, in vain seek the reality, and determine that it is a total meaningless and empty sign.
